Potential homebuyers will soon be able to buy a new townhouse or condominium along Plantations Road in Lewes. Country Life Homes offers a preview of Woods Cove, a new neighborhood of 185 homes in a cluster-style development that the builder says will encourage neighbors to get to know one another.
“They make great starter homes,” said Mike Fannin, chief operating officer, during the project’s preview for local Realtors, June 9, at The Plantations clubhouse. It was followed by the public’s official preview the next day at Plantations East.
The attached homes will feature exterior details such as stone facing and boast 1,500 to 2,200 square feet of space, with amenities such as vaulted ceilings, screened verandas, ceramic tile, granite countertops and attached garages.
“We found that a lot of people in the area don’t want to take care of a yard, so we opted for this lay-out vs. single-family homes,” Fannin said.
The concept apparently has appeal; two homes were sold within the first 40 minutes of the preview event, which wasn’t even intended for buyers.
Danny Cherundolo, 40, of Hockessin, said he couldn’t wait one more minute to buy his vacation home in what he considers a prime location. “It’s close to everything and I know the type of quality work Country Life Homes does,” he said.
The two- and three-bedroom homes start in the $350,000 range, and buyers will now be able to personalize their homes with Country Life Homes’ new Neighborhood Design Center near the corporate offices in Milton.
Fannin and his family, who make it a point to live in their developments and hold annual Neighborhood Appreciation Days where residents can meet and mingle, said they will continue their hands-on tradition with Woods Cove.
